The Mission
by RoseAnn
The Mission is beautiful a hacienda created by RoseAnn. It was inspired by historical Spanish architecture, in particular the Alcazar de Sevilla. While originally made for Swingset when it was still under the old management, the room had been gathering dust until it was picked up by DDClub who were looking for new locations. For its new purpose, RoseAnn refurbished it extensively: a new central couch pit, a new bar in the left wing and a pool in the right one.
A lot of individual details and furniture designs get recycled throughout her builds, however for this room RoseAnn made quite a few things from scratch which are used nowhere else. The spades motif of the DDClub for example which returns throughout the venue. All in all the entire build represents well beyond two weeks of accumulated building time.
The room exists in both an evening and a daytime version. The nighttime version is RoseAnn’s favourite though. The low light setting enables some spots to be lit with warm light sources while others remain a little darker. It all contributes to create that perfect Mediterranean evening atmosphere.
The Mission is also RoseAnn’s first foray in hosting a venue. There is something special about seeing your creation come to life and being enjoyed by other people:
I’m quite happy that people get to come and use the place to hang out, relax or have fun. I was pretty shy about hosting at first, but it’s grown on me.

The Mission opens on Tuesdays around 4-5PM CET. It stays open as long as there are people in it. You do not need to be a DDClub member to come hang out, although the club does also host private events.
With special thanks to RoseAnn.
