Classic Hall

Classic Hall
by JanLou

Classic Hall is a room that pays homage not only to classical music, but also to the beauty of musical instruments. The idea grew out of the designer’s interest in the early Baroque period and his wife’s passion for the great W. A. Mozart. The deliberately surreal concept marries giant representations of legendary early instruments to an environment that invites to explore and enjoy.

Creation began in 2022, after an update of the editor that introduced new textures adapted to the theme. It is regularly revisited and enriched. The build comprises more than 15,000 building blocks, more than 180 lighting points and almost 250 hours of cumulative work. All this shows in the incredible attention to detail and historical accuracy. Every instrument was created by studying three to four real world models and finding a golden average between them.

The exquise collection of baroque instruments, including a majestic organ, are all implemented in warm woods. Reflections and elaborate lighting complete the experience. A magnificent chandelier evokes the era of the French Empire.

I gave substance to my wife’s dreams, exactly as she gave shape to her love for me. It was well worth a love concert!

The early baroque period ran roughly from 1580 to 1650. It was a golden age for instrument makers, who were at the pinnacle of the technology of the day. It was the era of the master luthiers with names such as Nicola Amati and later also Antonio Stradivari whose instruments are still considered some of the finest ever made. Some of these instruments have gone out of fashion over time or have been superseded by more modern variations, but this does not diminish the accomplishments of the talented artisans that invented and built them. These were more than just instruments, each one a true piece of art in itself.

The Classic Hall is not usually open to the public. It can be visited on request though, privately or in group. Here you can experience the emotion of the craftsmen while listening to noble music that will enchant your heart and soul.

With special thanks to Jan and May.
