For many years now rumours have circulated about strange happenings at The Lake. Some speak of ruins that lie beneath the deceptively calm waters. The remains of some ancient civilisation? A study by Professor Ferdinand C. Ashley of the Miskatonic University seems to suggest this may indeed be the case. Whatever the historic truth, it cannot be denied The Lake has been home to some shocking and as yet unexplained phenomena. The latest of these was the apparition of a large tentacled beast that rose out of the waters. Reliable eye witnesses are hard to find as a bout of insanity seems to have struck those unfortunate enough to have come into contact with the mysterious creature.
