Skyrim – Riverwood
by Geralto
Skyrim is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios. It is the fifth main instalment in The Elder Scrolls series. As a tribute to this much beloved game, builder Geralto created this room. It is a recreation of the village of Riverwood, a small Nordic village set in a valley, between the river and the steep mountainside of the Throat of the World. It serves largely as a stopping point and rural community along the road from Helgen to Whiterun.
Fans of the game will recognise familiar locations such as the Sleeping Giant Inn, the Riverwood Lumber Mill, the Blacksmith and numerous more.
Riverwood was founded by the ancestors of Gerdur and Hod, current residents and owners of the village’s lumber mill. The village is small, despite the fact that there is a lumber mill, tavern, blacksmith, general goods store, and three log houses and huts with small vegetable gardens. It is largely self-sufficient, growing its own vegetables as well as hunting and fishing for meat.
The Sleeping Giant Inn is one of the centrepieces of the build and visitors would do well to take some time to discover all its secrets. While Orgnar is the inn’s merchant, Delphine serves as proprietor. Its sign depicts the resting head of a giant
But the village is not all there is to discover in this room. For those brave enough to descend into the depths of the mountain, more sinister secrets await exploration!
