Kiss:N:Tell

3DX has a rich tradition of underground clubs. Chief among those is certainly KaleyGray‘s Kiss:N:Tell. The room perfectly evokes the atmosphere and excitement of a rave party. The gazette was happy to interview Kaley and learn more about this unique room and the 3DX journey that led to its creation.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I have been playing 3DX since December 1st last year, first time in this kind of game. Since I worked from home a lot at the time I wanted to socialize a little more while doing my work and ever since I found so many amazing friends and formed a lot of bonds in here! I love helping others and I love seeing people smile and be happy, that’s my thing really.

When did you decide to open your own club?

I went to a lot of parties and I love that club feel. I decided to open up my own club after less than a week of playing. I had a friend that gifted me her old club, Strip:N:Fun. I had a grand opening on December 14th or something like that. I wanted a place where we could let our hair down and just have a fun Saturday night. It was a success and ever since I have had a room open.

This club then evolved into Kiss:N:Tell?

I had a lot of different ideas, but I wanted Quality, in everything. I am an event coordinator in real life and do concerts etc, so I have a lot of experience with it. I always had very good DJs and I was always ready to improve in any way I could. But Strip:N:Fun was always just a medium sized club and it didn’t really have its own identity. It was not what I really loved.

So I decided to build my own club, one that was exactly what I love and expressing my own vision. I came up with the name Kiss:N:Tell. I wanted this flirty, classy name, that played with the idea of being so good you just wanna kiss and tell about it.

What kind of experience are you aiming to give visitors?

I built this Underground club, dirty raw. One that gave off that illegal rave feel: dark and crowded. I personally love that it feels like a real club, with people dancing close together. I love hosting really, it is such a good feeling trying my best to make everyone feel welcome.

Who are the people behind Kiss:N:Tell?

For a long time it was just me alone that did everything and I liked it that way. But after the opening the new club we quickly became much much bigger and I wanted help . So now the team consist of:

• Nitro (Promoter, Builder, Co host)

Do you have any plans for special events?

We now also open new rooms once a month. Our concept is to showcase different kinds of underground venues.

Factory 13 is more for the upper class, the rich’s underground place. Pier 21 is a classic pop up place, in a dockyard, hidden inside shipping containers.

I built these new rooms while Nitro built the DJ booth and will also be building some more stuff in the future, she just officially joined the team. Superfuse has build our logos.

What kind of music do you play?

The music we aim for is House and its subgenres, especially Bass House which is just perfect for the club or Tech House, sometimes they throw in some UK Garage or Breakbeats! We want it to have an underground sound and feel, which is hard to explain ofc.

How do you choose the DJs that you collaborate with?

The DJs we work with come from all over 3DX. We really like to look beyond popularity in the DJs and look at their skill and the vibe they give. Of course there can also be some strategic benefit in having DJs from different clubs perform, but that is just a bonus.

We don’t have resident DJs as most clubs have. Sure of course some play regularly, but the goal is always for people to come and hangout because they like being there, not because they are resident or a partner and so on.

You draw quite a crowd. Did it take long for you to build up that kind of following?

Not as long as most places I would say, after I opened the new club, we had a steady 100+ guests every night and it only went up from there. But even the old one had good attendance, considering it was very new and I was still learning the club life in here.

A few weeks ago we opened our Factory 13 room which had 211 guests in it and I just love seeing those returning faces every week!
