Music sets the heartbeat of 3DXChat’s public rooms, and few shape that rhythm as much as Lussian and Queen. From helping refresh the general locations to guiding a community of 28 official DJs, they have spent years curating playlists, testing new DJs, and organizing events that bring life to every space. Each room carries its own identity, the romantic slows of Love Island, the classic rock of Sin Club, or the pulsing EDM of Fresco. Queen makes sure the music fits the mood. In this interview, she walks us through the DJ testing process, playlist updates, and what it takes to thrive as an official 3DXChat DJ.
Can you tell us a little bit on how it all began?
It all started when I began helping my close friend, Lussian, with a project to make the general locations in 3DXChat feel more lively by updating the music in those areas. Then, we started inviting people to apply to become official DJs and tested them. That was about three or four years ago. Since then, we’ve conducted more than 100 DJ tests, and as of now, we have 28 official DJs.
Does this mean you are affiliated with the 3DX game company?
I’m not a 3DXChat admin, or part of the 3DXChat development team. The Official DJs Community is something different, it’s a team of DJs who are authorized to perform in the general locations within 3DXChat.
What role do you play in all this?
I am the Music Manager for 3DXChat‘s general locations. One of my responsibilities is to keep the music list updated with new tracks. I DJ at Sin Club whenever I have free time, and also at Love Island when in mood for romantic slow music. I also manage the testing and evaluation of new DJs who wish to become official 3DXChat DJs.
How does one become an official 3DX DJ?
That’s a very good question. We are always looking for talented DJs to join our official DJ community. If you’re a DJ and would like to join, you are most welcome!
The first thing a DJ needs to do is join the 3DXChat Public Rooms discord server or contact me directly. There are a few steps and rules for those who want to become official DJs:
- Do not get involved in any kind of drama.
- Only play music that you are allowed to stream legally.
- Use legitimate software to broadcast.
- Always respect the room theme.
After the DJ accepts the rules, they must send me a screenshot of their profile. I will then post the DJ’s profile screenshot in the general location channel on our discord and ask members to vote. The DJ must receive more than 50 positive votes to move on to the next step. In the next step, the DJ will take a practical test.
People can also apply to become Official Event Hosts. This means they can organize and host events in the general 3DXChat locations, with the support of official DJs. Becoming an Official Event Host involves following specific rules and completing certain steps in the application process.
Can you tell us a little bit more about the practical test?
The DJ will be informed one week in advance to ensure they have enough time to prepare. They will receive a one-time access key 48 hours before the test to allow them to set up and configure everything.
During the test, there will be judges (official DJs from the location where the test is held) who will listen and evaluate the performance while discussing their observations in a group chat.
The judges will assess the DJ’s skills, music selection, adherence to DJ rules, stage activity, and other relevant factors. At the end of the test, the judges will submit their notes and votes. The DJ will pass the test if they receive enough votes from the judges.
If a DJ fails the test at one location, they can still take the tests for other locations. Some DJs may pass the test at one location but not at another because different locations require different skills. For example, at Fresco locations, DJs needs to know how to perform smooth transitions between tracks — a skill that isn’t required at Sin Club.
We always give every DJ an equal opportunity, and we try to support and even teach them when possible. There is a special channel on our Discord where I share updates about the DJ tests and sometimes post judges’ notes (without names) so that DJs can learn from the good examples and avoid others’ mistakes. If a DJ wants to retake the test, we will allow it once they explain why they are requesting another chance.
How do you decide which music is right for each room?
For every general location in 3DXChat, there is a specific music theme. The music playlist for each location must match the genre associated with that location. This is one of the official rules for DJs. Below is the list of music themes for the locations in 3DXChat:
- Fresco: EDM / Clubbing / Uplifting electronic music.
- NightClub: Disco 70-80’s / Dance 90’s.
- Love Island: Slow romantic music.
- Saloon: Country Music.
- Sin Club: Classic Rock and easy listening rock kind.
- Yacht: Chill EDM / Trance.
I update the music list for each location almost every week. I always talk to the people at each location to see how things are going and to get their feedback or suggestions about the music. Sometimes, people request specific songs they’d like to hear or ask me to remove tracks they’ve grown tired of. The main goal is to make sure as many people as possible enjoy the music and can listen to the songs they love.
What’s the process like when organizing an official event?
Official DJs or event hosts have several options:
- They can create an event post in a special channel on our discord server, including the date and location of the event. Other official DJs can then join the event by adding their names to the event list.
- They can book a time slot in another designated channel to perform during that time.
- They are also allowed to DJ at any time that is not already booked for an event or by another DJ.
However, all DJs must announce when they go live by posting in the “Live Now” channel. This allows me to track their activities and verify their metadata.
At the end of every month, I will provide a summary of each DJ’s activity. DJs who are inactive will be contacted, and continued inactivity may result in the loss of their DJ access key.
What advice would you give to someone just starting as a DJ who hopes to play officially one day?
Always be nice, kind, and polite — that’s how you win people’s hearts and gain fans. Fans are the foundation of a DJ’s success. Keep learning and developing your skills, because growth never stops. Remember, a DJ can’t make everyone happy with their music. People listen in different ways and have different tastes. But you can make everyone love your personality.
When it comes to being an official DJ, you need to read and understand the DJ rules, have support from your friends and fans, and always play legal music. Remember, when you perform in public or general rooms, you don’t have control over the audience — your only power is your style and how smartly you connect with people to make them enjoy your vibe.
If a DJ is kind, polite, smart, skilled, follows the rules, and truly loves music, success as an official DJ is guaranteed.
How do you feel the 3DXChat music scene has evolved since you first started?
Before we began developing the 3DXChat music system, there were only two or three DJs who were able to perform in the general locations. The music playlists in those locations were very limited and often repeated the same songs. There were also some bugs that caused the music to stop playing from time to time.
We decided to start from scratch, inviting DJs to become official 3DXChat DJs and perform in the general locations. Today, we have 28 official DJs who play music across all 3DXChat general locations. We continuously update each location’s playlist, keeping it fresh and aligned with the location’s theme, and we make sure that all the music used is fully licensed and legal.
I still remember how happy people were when we began updating the playlists and adding new songs and tracks. It was amazing to see how much everyone enjoyed the official DJ events and the fresh new music atmosphere.
Two weeks ago, we introduced something new, the Official Event Host program. As mentioned earlier, this program allows well-known 3DXChat event hosts to organize their events in the official 3DXChat general locations, under our supervision and with the support of our official DJs.
We believe this initiative will make the general locations in 3DXChat more active and lively, creating an even better atmosphere and helping everyone enjoy more exciting events.
What keeps you passionate about doing this after all these years?
I love 3DXChat and always want it to keep getting better and better. I also enjoy seeing people happy, enjoying the music, and having fun at the events. On top of that, I like helping my best friend, Lussian (the main 3DXChat official DJ), and I truly enjoy both the music and DJing.
In our community, we care for each other like family and are always ready to help one another. For me, I enjoy helping others and listening to good music. Our goal is to build a strong, official DJ community and make 3DXChat’s public locations more active and lively with talented DJs that people love.
It is clear that 3DXChat DJ team is about more than just music or rules. It’s about creating spaces where people can relax, have fun, and connect. They help DJs grow, keep the rooms lively, and make sure everyone feels welcome.
Being part of this side of 3DXChat takes time and patience, but Queen and the rest of the team show how much a little care can shape the experience for everyone. The music isn’t just something you hear, it’s part of the world everyone helps bring to life.
At the end of the day, the official DJ scene is about people as much as the songs they play. And in Queen and Lussian’s hands, both come together perfectly.
With Special Thanks to Queen

A very interesting article. It’s good to see that we have people who care about the music that is played at the general locations. In the two rooms I visit, Sin and Love Island there has been a big improvement in the selection of music. One question I have: is there any other way to give feedback on the music at a location other than just happening to be there when you are there and speaking to you personally?
